Mumbai · Worli

Architects and interior designers in Worli.

Sea-facing towers, converted mill lands and homes that look out over the Arabian Sea. We work across Worli Sea Face, Prabhadevi, Lower Parel and the old mill district.

Designing for Worli

Worli has changed faster than almost any part of Mumbai. Former textile mill compounds have become offices and residential towers, the BDD chawls are being redeveloped, and the sea face is lined with high-rise apartments. Alongside all of this, Worli Koliwada keeps its fishing village character.

For apartments high above the sea, the brief is usually about light and weather. Large glazed walls bring in views, but also heat, glare and wind-driven rain. We plan rooms, shading and finishes so that a west-facing home stays comfortable in the afternoon and dry through the monsoon.

Seafront sites fall under Coastal Regulation Zone rules in addition to municipal permissions. For new buildings and larger renovations, we factor this into the brief before any design is drawn.

Projects

What we design in Worli.

Architecture, interiors and landscape, from a single room to a whole building. See the practice

01

High-rise apartments

Full interiors for new towers, from layout changes to joinery, lighting and finishes.

02

Workplaces

Offices in converted mill buildings and new commercial towers around Lower Parel and Worli.

03

Sea-facing homes

Planning for glare, heat and salt air so the view stays a pleasure all year.

Process

Clear steps, no surprises.

Each stage ends with clear decisions, drawings and costs agreed with you before we move on.

01

Listen

We begin with conversations, not drawings. How you live or work, what you love about the places you know, what the budget and timeline really are.

02

Read the site

Sun paths, prevailing winds, views, neighbours, soil and regulations. The site sets the first rules of the design.

03

Concept

Sketches, models and early studies that test a few clear ideas. We choose one direction together before going further.

04

Design development

Plans, sections, materials and details refined with structural and services consultants, with cost checked at every stage.

05

Drawings & approvals

Complete construction drawings, specifications and the documentation needed for statutory approvals.

06

On site

Regular site visits, mock-ups and close work with contractors and craftspeople until the last detail is in place.

Questions about Worli

Can you change the layout of a new tower apartment?
Usually yes, within the limits of the structure and the society's rules. We review the structural drawings first and only move walls that can safely move.
How do you deal with heat in west-facing flats?
With shading, glazing choices, curtain and blind design, and furniture placement, before relying on air conditioning alone.
How are fees structured?
Fees depend on the scope, scale and complexity of the work. They are usually either a percentage of construction cost or a fixed fee per stage. We agree this in writing before design work begins.
What should I bring to the first meeting?
Anything you have: a site plan or address, photographs, a rough brief, images you like and an idea of budget and timeline. None of it needs to be complete.
