Designing for Malad

Malad has grown into a major residential and office hub, with Mindspace and the Link Road corridor drawing companies and new apartment towers. Further west, Marve and Madh still have fishing villages, beaches and weekend homes.

In the towers, the work is mostly interiors for families and young professionals, where storage, light and easy maintenance matter more than anything else. We keep material palettes simple and durable, and plan joinery carefully so the home stays uncluttered.

Toward the coast, we design weekend homes and bungalows that are built for salt air and heavy rain, using materials that age well and details that shed water.

Concept

Sketches, models and early studies that test a few clear ideas. We choose one direction together before going further.

Design development

Plans, sections, materials and details refined with structural and services consultants, with cost checked at every stage.

Drawings & approvals

Complete construction drawings, specifications and the documentation needed for statutory approvals.

On site

Regular site visits, mock-ups and close work with contractors and craftspeople until the last detail is in place.

Do you take projects near Madh and Marve?

Yes. Coastal sites need extra care with materials and detailing, and some fall under Coastal Regulation Zone rules, which we check early.

What does an apartment interior usually include?

Layout planning, electrical and lighting design, joinery, bathrooms, kitchen, finishes and, if you want, loose furniture and styling.

How are fees structured?

Fees depend on the scope, scale and complexity of the work. They are usually either a percentage of construction cost or a fixed fee per stage. We agree this in writing before design work begins.

What should I bring to the first meeting?

Anything you have: a site plan or address, photographs, a rough brief, images you like and an idea of budget and timeline. None of it needs to be complete.
